He has held the posts of Secretary and Registrar of this body. This is the State-recognised professional association of hearing aid audiologists in Ireland.

He is a Fellow of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists.

He is a Full Member of both the Irish and British Societies of Audiology and an international member of the British Academy of Audiology.

He is the only Full Member of the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (A.I.H.H.P.) in Ireland.
This is an international society of Hearing Aid Audiologists, which promotes high professional standards. Each member commits to maintain annual continuing education and to use routinely additional hearing testing techniques such as Real Ear Measurement, Tympanometry and Video Otoscopy.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Pharmacy Degree
from University College Dublin and is a member of The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.

He is a founder member of the Mid-West School for Deaf Children, Rosbrien, Limerick and has served for many years on the Board of Management. He is past President of the Mid West Parents of Deaf Children.
